  • Beenleigh and Districts Update December 2010

    In the past six months the Lions Club of Twin Rivers has financially supported many community groups and programs. We would like to thank our community, who have supported our fund raising activities.

    By supporting our Lions Mints sales, autObarn Sausage Sizzles, Eagleby Festival BBQ, Christmas Cakes sales, Christmas Wrapping and Christmas Raffles sales, we have been able to support the following community groups with funding of over $4000 dollars.

    * Australian Lions Children''''''''s Mobility Foundation
    * Beenleigh Theatre Group Festival Awards
    * Beenleigh High School
    * Mt Warren Park State School (Athletes with Disabilities, State Titles)
    * Ste Kris Soo Taekwondo (National Titles)
    * Southern Cross Retirement Village, Edens Landing
    * Lions Eye Health Program
    * Twin Rivers Lions Schools Awards (Most Improved Student)
    * Brigalow Country Club (For assistance with charitable programs)
    * Christmas and Fathers Day Visits to Jimbelunga Nursing Home, Eagleby and Beenleigh Nursing Home

    We would like to acknowledge the fantastic support of the management and staff of autObarn Beenleigh, Beenleigh Marketplace and Savilles Meats, Beenleigh Marketplace.

    To the many outlets in our district who sell our Lions Mints and Christmas Cakes and Puddings. Thank You.

    Finally a big thank you to our areas political representatives. Bert Van Manen, Federal Member for Forde, Evan Moorhead, State Member for Waterford, Michael Crandon, State Member for Coomera, Margaret Keech, State Member for Albert and Ray Hackwood, Logan Councillor for Division 12.
  • Lions Youth of the Year Quest - Club Judging - 12 February 2011

    If you are a young person and will be between the ages of 16 and 19 year at June 30 2011, then you are eligible to enter the Youth of the Year Quest.

    The Quest is a prestigious event for young people, having been in existence for more than 46 years and boasts many high profile Australians amongst the ranks of former entrants, including former Prime Minister Mr Rudd.

    The Quest will give you an unequalled opportunity to experience an interview situation - in a friendly atmosphere - and a change to practice your public speaking skills.

    The best way to enter the Quest is to talk to your local Lions Club.

  • Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony - Old Beenleigh Town - 26 January 2011

    The Lions Club of Twin Rivers hosts the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony at Old Beenleigh Town.



    Choosing to become an Australian citizen is a very important expression of commitment to being part of Australia’s future. The Lions Club of Twin Rivers supports the second Lions Clubs International Object, To Promote the principles of good government and good citizenship by hosting this important ceremony. This is a Community Service Project a project where the club can be observed by the local community members and elected members of all levels of Parliament.

    Lions Christmas Gift Wrapping























    The Twin Rivers Lions Club will be wrapping Christmas Gifts again this year at Beenleigh Marketplace between December 10 and 24. We are seeking volunteers to help us with this important fund raiser. If you can help, please call 33820482 or email: twinriverslions@gmail.com

    Lions Club of Twin Rivers Inc. ( Beenleigh and District)

    An Invitation is extended by the Lions Club of Twin Rivers (Beenleigh and District) to residents of Beenleigh and District to attend an Information Night on membership of the Lions Club in your area.

    Your attendance is not a commitment to join the Club, but rather a chance to meet the friendly members, ascertain what the Club does in your area and the obligations of a member.

    Venue - Beenleigh Sports Club, 28a Alamein Street Beenleigh (upstairs meeting room)

    Date - Tuesday 26th October
    Time - 7.00pm for 7.15pm start
    Light supper on conclusion.

  • Twin Rivers Lions Club Observation Run

    The first Twin Rivers Lions Club Observation Run has been successfully completed. With competitors from local Lions Clubs and the local community it was a day to be remembered.

  • Lions Youth of the Year Quest 2010

    This year the Lions Club of Twin Rivers hosted both the Club competition and then the following week the Zone competition. The Club Competition was held on Saturday 27 February 2010 and the Zone competition was held on Saturday 6 March 2010.

National News



Community Service

What do we do?

Lions are people who get involved in humanitarian efforts locally, nationally, and internationally.

  • We sponsored a local girl to assist her in attending Oceania Artistic Championships 2010 in Wanganui, New Zealand.
  • We sponsored a local girl to assist her in attending the World Junior Ultimate Frisbee Championships 2010 in Heilbronn, Germany.
  • We sponsored the Under 14 Girls Logan Thunder Basketball to assist in attending Australian Club Championships to be held in Kingston, Tasmania from 27th September to 2nd October 2010.
  • We fund the yearly maintenance of a David Hart Walker for a local boy to enable him to walk.
  • We supported a team from Windaroo in the 2010 Kokoda Challange.
  • Hosted yearly Citizenship Ceremony on Australia Day
  • We provide the Lions Most Improved Student Award to 10 local schools on Awards nights.
  • We support awards for the Beenleigh Festival of One Act plays and the Beenleigh Quota Eisteddfod.
  • We have donated funds to Lions Clubs International Foundation to provide disaster relief to the people of Haiti and Chile after the earthquakes and the people of Samoa after the tsunami.
